Short Biography of Nrusingha Guru
Nrusingha Guru, a freedom fighter and journalist known as the "Gandhi of Western Odisha", was born on March 24, 1902 at Gurupali in Sambalpur. His face was like that of Gandhi. Like Gandhi, he wore knee-deep clothing. He acted as a vow of life to the oppressed. He started journalism for public service. Eventually that turned out to be an increase. He was the first recognized district representative of Utkalmani Gopbandhu Das's Samaj newspaper.
Short Biography of Jayi Rajaguru
Nrusingh Guru played a key role in popularizing society in western Odisha. He was collecting news on foot and on bicycles. After the news was confirmed to be one hundred percent true, he went and sent it for publication. A magazine called 'Jagaran' from Sambalpur was published under his editorship. He was the only one of the "Panchasakhas of Sambalpur" to maintain contact with the Congress till the end. Nrusingh died of a heart attack on January 1984 in Sarangpur, then Madhya Pradesh.
