The Success Story of Farmer Who Dares to Dream- AgriTech(All about Agriculture).

Nowadays, many people have taken interest in agriculture and have also fulfilled their needs by getting many benefits in agriculture.

There are also many types of farming systems. There is a stark difference between the village  and urban farming. By cultivating with advanced technology, people have become examples in many places. Today we have written about one such personality who has set an example for others by doing farming.

The farmer Abani Sadhangi

As most of our farmers depend on farming for livelihood in India. Abani Sadhangi, aged 40, a farmer from Fatabahal village of Kusmel G.P, Loisinga Block of Balangir District. He along with his wife cultivates Paddy in 1 hector of land. Traditional cultivation of paddy was not so profitable for him.

 Paddy cultivation helped to meet his needs but no such savings was there. After receiving training on System of Rice Intensification (SRI), Organic farming, Line transplanting, Pest Management etc. from Social Development Foundation, Talcher a partner of NABARD, KVK Balangir, District Agriculture and Horticulture Office his method of farming changed.

So both husband and wife thought of cultivating organic vegetables such as Pumpkins, Onions, Tomatoes and Chillies in their field. Then he thought of expanding it as business by receiving a loan from People's Bank like as State Bank of India (SBI). Initially he borrowed Rs. 90.000/- and successfully paid it back.

He used the loan amount to buy a water pump, farming utilities, and vegetable seeds. He started selling vegetable to their neighbors and at the nearest local market (Balangir).After this the revenue he earned was much enough to meet his daily needs.

He not only sold vegetable to his neighbors but also started selling to other nearby areas. Social Development Foundation, Balangir / Talcher supported him with providing different kinds of vegetable seeds for alternative income creation. He utilized the opportunity very well and stabilized his lifestyle. During the COVID-19 PANDEMIC his training and marketing on "On farming cultivation” skill earned him income and proved the well said scheme of GOI.“Doubling Farming”. All their efforts were paid off. 

Currently he is associated with Social Development Foundation and working as Community Resource Person (CRP) for Loisinga Block of Balangir Dist.
