The last time a human foot was on the surface of the moon
Neil Armstrong was the first person to land on the moon at the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. To date, a total of 12 people have set foot on the lunar surface. The last time humans went to the moon was in 1972, The mission was named Apollo 17. It involved three astronauts. On December 7, the Apollo 17 launched its first lunar voyage from Earth. On December 10, the spacecraft entered the lunar orbit. On the 11th, two astronauts, Eugene Sermon and Harrison Smith, landed on the lunar surface, leaving the main vehicle. They went out three times and collected samples from different parts of the moon. The last time they landed on the moon was on December 13, and the next day they left the moon and traveled to Earth on the 17 December. The Apollo program was suspended after the mission. It's been 48 years since no-one else set foot on the moon.
