Short Biography of Manohar Parrikar
Manohar Parrikar, who became famous as a gentleman poet, was born on December 13, 1955 in Mapusa, Kerala. From an early age he joined the National Volunteer Association. After graduating from IIT Bombay, he returned to his hometown to work as an organizer of the RSS.
He played an important role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He emerged as the country's first IIT candidate to contest the BJP's In 1994 Goa assembly elections. He became the Goa's Chief Minister for the first time in 2002. He was re-elected Chief Minister in 2012.

The prime minister has won a majority in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Parrikar was sworn in as Narendra Modi's defense minister. Again He became the Chief Minister of Goa in 2017 . In 2018, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Despite serious illness, he continued to improve Goa. He died on March 17, 2019. He was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2020.
